Appeal for witnesses following burglary series in Swanage

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward following a series of burglaries in Swanage.

 

Between 10pm on Monday 18 August and 6am on Tuesday 19 August 2025 a burglary occurred at a property in Moor Road in which a Stihl hedge trimmer was stolen from a shed.

 

It was also reported that between 9pm on Sunday 17 August and 3.30pm on Tuesday 19 August 2025 entry was forced to an address in Rabling Road.

 

Then, a further report was received that between 5pm on Tuesday 19 August and 5.30pm on Wednesday 20 August 2025 a property in Prospect Crescent was broken into.

 

Officers are currently carrying out enquiries to ascertain whether any items were stolen from these addresses.

 

Inspector Simon Perry, of Dorset Police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this burglary series and we have increased patrols in the area in light of these reports.

 

“I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the time the incidents occurred.

 

“I am also keen to hear from motorists driving in the area at the time with dashcams fitted, as well as any local residents with doorbell or home CCTV cameras, who may have captured any footage of relevance to my investigation.
